FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

What makes Air-Craftglass so unique?

Air-Craftglass products are unique thanks to a special, laminating technique (patent pending). This method allows us to produce ultra-thin laminated glass sheets, ranging from 1.2 mm/0.047” to 6 mm/0.236” in overall thickness.

We use a special glass type, known as one of the strongest types of glass in the world. Better yet, a specially developed tempering method enables us to increase its strength fivefold.

Once two sheets of glass are laminated together, the final product remains flexible while becoming extremely strong – in fact, it is virtually unbreakable. Moreover, the acoustics of our 1.2 mm/0.047” laminating system are approximately 25% lower than 3 mm/0.118” polycarbonate. Last but not least, 1.2 mm/0.047” Air-Craftglass weighs around 25% less than 3 mm/0.118”polycarbonate.

For which applications is our glass suited?

We recently developed a range of transparent products which can be deployed as dust panels/lenses, bulkheads, shower doors, cabinet glass and for other uses. We also developed ultra thin mirrored glass with a unique self-adhesive backing film. This solution makes it possible to easy install our mirrors with no extra glue, thickness, weight and cost. These mirrors can be used in lavatories or kitchens, while the laminated wood can be used for items such as cabinets and table tops.

What are the innovative possibilities of Air-Craftglass?

Our superior quality glass is the best material to use for high-level finishes, offering an attractive look & feel, excellent durability and reduced weight. All our products are lighter than comparable solutions available on the market today. And, crucially, our glass is 100% scratch-resistant. See our video for more information.

How is Air-Craftglass produced?

Our business model is based on a strong conviction that innovative and revolutionary solutions are best produced by working together with the finest partners in the world and leveraging on the specific know-how of each company.

Our ultra-thin glass is produced under licence in a leading glass factory in Europe, where some 500 specialists work in over 40,000 m² of state-of-the-art production facilities. In addition to their expertise with ultra-thin glass, they have also developed electronic solutions which will be added to our product range in the near future. Meanwhile, our mirrors are made in a specialised high-tech production facility in Europe that measures more than 25,000 m² and accommodates over 200 employees.

For both the transparent and mirrored products, the laminating (patent pending) is carried out in our own production unit in Europe. This unit comprises clean rooms (class ISO 5) and the specialist equipment required to avoid any dust or dirt before the laminating process starts. The actual production method (patent pending) and materials are the company’s best-kept secret. Products are only shipped out to our global client base after they have been subjected to the most stringent quality control regime.
